Employee Volunteering

Trax encourages employees to contribute their time and talents to support social organisations

Willing Hearts soup kitchen – Feeding those in need

Willing Hearts is an organisation which provides about 5,000 meals to more than 40 locations across Singapore daily. The beneficiaries of these meals include the elderly, the disabled, low-income families, children from single parent families, poverty-stricken families, and migrant workers.

Our team in Singapore volunteered with them and helped with meal preparation, from cutting mushrooms to cooking vegetables, wrapping spring rolls, and packing food boxes. It was a great experience for the Trax team to help with the preparation of several thousand meals for the needy. It’s not revolutionary work, but we believe that when we make the ordinary come alive, the extraordinary will take care of itself.

How are you making the ordinary come alive today?

The Food Bank – Helping reduce our food wastage

The Food Bank in Singapore is a place where individuals or companies can donate unused or unwanted food that is still safe to eat. However, all these unused or unwanted food might be either approaching, or past, its ‘expiration’, ‘sell by’ or ‘best by’ date. In such cases, the Food Bank works with the food industry and regulators to make sure the food is safe, and legal to distribute and eat.

As a charity, The Food Bank needs all the help they can get. That’s when the Trax volunteers dived right in! They helped by checking product expiration dates, categorising items and packing them for delivery. Once sorted, this food is distributed to member charities that prepare the food and distribute them to the needy. Perhaps next time we’ll think twice about wasting food, and drop some off at the Food Bank?

Let’s help make every bit go a long way.

Good Deeds Day – Smiles to light up a hospital

Good Deeds Day is a global initiative that unites people from 100 countries to do good for the benefit of others and the planet. Embodying the spirit, volunteers from Trax Israel visited Sheba Medical Center at Tel HaShomer Hospital as part of this initiative. There, they played and chatted with patients in different wards, handed out balloons, cookies, coffee and tea, all to put a smile on the faces of patients and their families.

The volunteers put into practice the simple idea that every single person can do something good, no matter how big or small, to improve the lives of others and positively change the world.

What is your good deed for the day?
